"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together."

--Vincent Van Gogh

The picture sequence below you can see Stainless executing proper technique for the Jerk.  It all begins with an upright torso and the elbows nice and high.  In the second frame he is able to maintain an upright torso, allowing him to drive the bar vertically and hit a successful PR.  It is the smaller details that have led to this great lift.

Dave L., is extremely excited about dressing up at tomorrow's calss for Halloween. But, please, no Borat outfits [the one that looks like like a jock strap with spagetti shoulder straps]!

Great workout today

Since it seems that people will be dressing up tomorrow, I will try to make it to most of the classes to take pictures in your ridiculous outfits :) However, for 7am, since I am working out with you, no promises unless we end up lifting...and to noon & 4pm, sorry but my job wont be flexible enough tomorrow to make it to ya. Ill try and get everyone else! If you are on facebook, I can tag you in them when I upload :)

Fun workout today.

8:26 w/ 345lbs

Erica K, Thanks for settng the pace on the run, I definitely could feel my brain telling me to sandbag.

Great WOD today, the 7am class had some fun and great efforts. While on the T to work I realized that I didn't add up my weight properly and was slightly bummed to acknowledge that I lifted 10lbs less than what I thought...O well, I am still content with the results.

7:25 @355lbs not 365lbs.

Also got home from Foxwoods last night and forced a late night trip to Globo Gym for Helen. 9min w/CTB pullups and 55lb dumbbell. 12mph on treadmill. I really manage to stand out running/dodging people curling and calf raising in between the pullup bar and treadmill.

Mike G, are those the new inflatable plates?

First real day back after being sick for a bit. Thought I was feeling almost like myself again and then came in for this WOD.. Felt like I was breathing through a straw- not fun. Took 10+ minutes with #155. Thanks to all the girls for talking me through this one, woulda been a DNF without you!

Glad you're better Hannah!

8:45. Could have pushed myself on the run and could have put a little bit of the weight that I took off, back on.

Am doing a warm M&M cookie run in half an hour. My last cookie before the Paleo Challenge.

Did 425# (85% of 1RM) for the first set. When I came in after the run and tried doing 425 again, the weight got heavy real quick so scaled down to 355# for the remaining sets. That first set took a lot out of me. Finished in 10:08.

Lapidus - I'll buy a round of beers if you show up tomorrow morning in the outfit Tom A. described above. Would love to see you do some "skin the cats" in that thing.

Audrey/Mel/Jess, would I be able to borrow a tutu from one of you for the weekend? I ordered one from All About Dance (thanks Audrey for the suggestion) last week and they decided to not tell me that they were out of stock which means I'm SOL for my Halloween costume...And I don't know how I'm going to convince Austin to wear his all-white spandex male ballerina costume if I'm not next to him in a tutu:)

I'll come and work out in my kilt tomorrow, but only if there aren't HSPU's on the menu.

RASTERBLASTER, live a little.

October 29, 2009 | Unregistered Commentergunzelle

Rast - just remember, it does get a little chilly in the mornings. I hope you've seen that Seinfeld episode.
